KITSCH BITCH SHOP OPENING

It started out with nothing more than a few spray cans and plain white t-shirts in the hands of a creative, yet incredibly enterprising girl. Over the past two years Kitsch Bitch got bigger and bigger, appearing at the occasional pop up market and producing rock concert-like queues, full of crazed-out girls, willing to spend their last cent on a Kitsch Bitch tee.

Now we are proud to say, that our friend Lilly, the owner of Kitsch Bitch invited us to witness the birth of her first store at Mühlgasse 29, 1040 Vienna. Who would say no to that? Well, we certainly did not and with our good shoes on and camera around the neck, we went there to check out the location and the other labels, which she will be selling amongst her own stuff.
After climbing the two steps to the shop, which said: "Started from the bottom now we're here" (good one!), we found ourselves in what could have been a walk-in closet. Although the given space was rather small, Lilly managed to get the best out of it, by keeping the color scheme in black and white, with a few colorful eye-catchers, like the pair of vintage chairs or the art prints on the walls (our favorite: the picture of Bruce Lee kicking his leg up high, with a real sole of a shoe glued on top of his foot).

While we were sipping our Vodka/Kaahée cocktails, which tasted surprisingly good, we checked out the assortment of products. We tried on some sunglasses by "Le specs" and immediately decided, that we had to buy some. By the way, guess who also owns a pair of them? Rihanna, mhm that's right...How cool is that?
Besides the awesome eye wear, there were the cutest iPhone cases, in the shape of animals (NEED. THE. PINK. PUG. ONE!!!), the mandatory beanies and caps, T-shirts by "Illustrated People", hoodies by "muschi kreuzberg", patent "leather" gym sacks and a wide range of jewelry by "Mint" and "JUKSEREI". From bangles to necklaces and earrings, that shop has everything! Of course two walls of the room were wallpapered with her own designs. The famous T-shirts saying things like: "Brudaliebe" and "Muss da wurscht sein". We could try to translate these into English, but we think their charm and pun would go missing, so we better let it be.

All in all we were greatly impressed by the love and hard work she put into the shop and that reminded us of the quote we mentioned before. She might not have started from the "bottom", but she did start from scratch and is very successful with it, as the opening of her very own shop proved to everyone. What's next for her is to enjoy the beautiful space she created and acquire more cool brands, because that's what Vienna really needs. Little shops with heart, which think outside of the box. Chapeau, Kitsch Bitch!

So for all of you, lucky enough to live in this beautiful city we call Vienna, who want to visit the shop personally, it's opening next week and besides the brands we already listed, there are many more. Par exemple: btch bag, hype, daily paper, agora vintage snapbacks, cartwheel project, altitude, trrbl mvmnt, et cetera et cetera.

DOCS AND FISHNET

We know, we know. We promised to give you more than just fashion posts, but it was such a lovely day today and we wanted to go out and take some pictures.
We don't know about you, but when fall arrives we get a huge craving for rock music of all sorts, especially grunge! And with Nirvana and The Pixies in our ears all day long, we thought we'd throw on our old Doc Martens and celebrate that grungy look. Without the greasy hair of course... So put on a fishnet jumper and lots of black eyeliner, dust off your walkman and "come as you are".

PARALLEL VIENNA

Today I went to an exhibition. It was about time since I rarely go and I always end up loving it! So I saw a lot of cool stuff but also weird things today (like the last picture, yes this is considered art. But maybe I just don't get it) . The whole exhibition was very dark and sometimes a bit creepy. Yes I know you can't really tell from the photos, because I used the flash of my camera like the paparazzi do, but hey otherwise you wouldn't see shit. There were giant stamps, glittery dildos spinning around in circles, a shrine for construction workers (with beer and "Wurstsemmeln") and other cah-razy stuff. Some creeper dude even shoved a vacuum cleaner down a cow's lung, making it look like it was breathing. I have to say it was interesting, but at the same time I wish I could scrape those images from my eyeballs.   But see for yourselves dear readers! (Melina)

OUR JAM

Today we thought we'd share something else with you, dear readers. No, we're not showing you nude pictures or telling you embarrassing stories that nobody would want to read anyway...It's even better! Today we're giving you a list of the songs that we love most at the moment.
Do you know that feeling when you listen to a track for the first time and it feels like the world stopped for a moment? You're getting goosebumps all over and just want to dance, laugh and/or cry? Yeah, that's what we're talking about. A song you can listen to over and over and over again, which makes you want to hug somebody and sing along, even if you're riding on a train, surrounded by strangers.

So here are our very own Top 15 songs of the last weeks. You better get some tissues (for Ellie Goulding), a hairbrush to sing in (Katy Perry) and a big mirror you can check your dance moves in (Aluna George). Here we go! Oh and by the way, check out the surprise we made for you, it's down below...

INKED UP, TATTED UP

I've been thinking about getting a tattoo for at least three years. So last November I just woke up one morning and I knew today was the day! I already had some ideas concerning the meaning and the font, but I needed that last impulse to actually do it. I called up the studio and went there two hours later. Pretty impulsive, I know. Well as you can see being spontaneous when it comes to tattoos comes with a price. Both of the tattoos are not that nicely done and I absolutely hate the font of the one I have on my shoulder. I really need to get it redone asap!!! So if you're thinking about getting a tattoo PLEASE don't take the first font that comes to your mind, OK?

I am gonna try to explain the meaning without getting too personal. On my right arm I have "Not all who wander are lost". I had this one done at a time when I had no idea what to do with my life and wanted to have a reminder, that it's not that bad to not have a clue what you're doing.
On my shoulder it says "happily ever after...". This one I got three Months after my first one. Also a reminder that I will find happy ever after at some point in my life. Kind of goes along with my first one. I had huge boy trouble back then, but I don't really want to go too much into detail. Nonetheless I'm kind of finding my path at the moment (hope I didn't jinx it now!), no boy trouble and I am actually pretty happy :) So maybe the next tattoo (and there sure as hell will be one) will have a lighter background. (Melina)

I have wanted a tattoo since first grade. Back then it was butterflies and dolphins, then in my early teens a Chinese dragon around my belly button and in my late teens, two swallows holding a banner which says "Love&Hate". So happy my parents didn't allow me any of that...So eighteen months ago, I finally found the one thing, that is so precious to me, that I wanted it as tattoo and probably still will thirty years from now. My Mum and Dad. Now you can all cry. Since my parents names are not fit to be inked onto someones body, and "Mutter&Vater" sounds horrible, I decided to have it written in Sanskrit. Because it looks beautiful. And because I can. (Ago)
