BATMAN'S VILLAINS

Yes, this is really happening. Wipe your tears, it is true. Tonight we are showing you how to transform yourself into your favorite Batman villain!! Are you excited? Because we most certainly are. 

Poison Ivy and the Joker are two very contradictory characters. Poison Ivy is seductive and sexy in a pretty deadly way and the Joker, well what can we say about the Joker? He's the most twisted motherfucker of them all and that's why we love him. 

Here's what we did: 
For the Poison Ivy costume (which is not that "instant", but all the more awesome), Melina used an old body con dress, sprayed it with glittery green fabric color and glued lots and lots of plastic ivy leafs on it. The rest -as always- is make up. As you can see she even glued some ivy leafs on her eyebrows. Be careful what kind of glue you use, because even though she used lash glue, it hurt pretty bad when she took the leafs of...Complete the look with red heels and green tights (if you think your knees are disgusting for example). 

For the Joker costume, the best case scenario would be you having a purple velvet suit at home. But let's be honest here, who the fuck owns something like that? So instead just try to use as many purple garments as you have, or just one, if it's ugly enough (like Ago's blouse). Other necessities are a waistcoat and a tie and OF COURSE the creepy make up. There are hundreds of Joker make up tutorials out there, just take a look and last but not least, please don't use acrylic paint to color your hair, it's really hard to get off...

INSTANT COSTUME CHALLENGE

Since Halloween is coming towards us with huge steps, we decided to prepare something special and very useful for you guys. Some of you may have already planned out an entire outfit and some probably don't even know yet if they're gonna do anything at all. So for the indecisive ones amongst you, we created this challenge to prevent you from going to a Halloween party as a sexy kitten or something else as uncreative as that. 

The costumes we put together all consist of things we already had in our closets and we're pretty sure you own stuff that's similar to ours or maybe even better! Just remember, the key essentials to great costumes are make up and a whole lotta attitude, cuz you gotta work that outfit gurl! 

Here it comes! For this first round of our instant costume challenge, we let ourselves be inspired by witches, cause let's be honest, everybody wanted to have magical powers at one point in their lives (we still do...) There are a thousand ways to interpret the classic witch costume. 

We chose a modern day witch, with high heels, a nice peplum and skin tight pencil skirt. Classy, witchy and sexy at the same time. Complete that look with dark eye make up and luscious red lips. If you want to have an edgier costume, try our interpretation of the sorceress. With a sheer maxi dress and knitted top worn over it, you'll only need some feathers in your hair and/or a dead animal over your shoulder and you'll convince everyone that you live in the woods and sacrifice men to your secret goddess. 

QUELQUE CHOSE DE BEAU

Another DIY post! Wohoo! Browsing the Internet we found pictures of beautiful self made étagères and thought that we should give them a try. Since we already have a nice collection of vintage tea sets, we set out to the next thrift shop only to buy some crystal glasses. Well we tried. In the end we bought a set of five crystal glasses, four plates and one tea set...What can we say? You can never have too many pretty dishes.

Étagères are really easy too make! You only need some tableware and superglue (preferably one for glass and ceramics) and that really is it. In only a few minutes you can make a gorgeous mini shelf to put petit-fours or jewelry on it. Get that "Let them eat cake"- look for your own home now! Enough said, look at our beautiful pictures now!

DIY NAIL POLISH REMOVER JAR

Lean back and get comfortable cause today's DIY project is super easy, but at the same time incredibly practical. Have you ever been on the road and noticed that your nails look like homeless person's because you haven't changed your nail polish in two weeks? Well, we have. And we all know how important neat nails are. So here we go!  

You'll need a small jar with a lid (because without a lid the polish remover will vaporize!), a kitchen or make up sponge, nail polish remover and a pair of scissors. 

Start with cutting out a round piece that fits the bottom of the jar (use the rim to measure!). Cut the rest of the sponge into four pieces of the same size and make sure to remove the coarse side of the sponge. 

Place the four pieces inside the jar, creating a little hole.

 Pour some remover into the jar until the sponge appears to bell well soaked.

 Self explanatory.

 Et voilà, here's your travel-sized nail polish remover jar! It would even fit inside a clutch bag, though we have no idea why anybody would need to clean their nails at a bar or club...
